From OSD Studios to A Brand New Way

We went through a lot of big changes earlier this year. On top of moving into new office space we decided to change the company name from OSD Studios to A Brand New Way. Anyone who’s ever gone through that knows that it’s not an easy transition. After a lot of talk between all of us though, we decided it was going to be worth it.

There were a lot of reasons that we made the change, but after we were certain that it wasn’t just driven by the creative urge to do something new we made the change. In the end we just didn’t think there was a whole lot of meaning behind the original name. People would ask what the “OSD” in OSD Studios stood for, and short of a long-winded explanation, there wasn’t much else to it.

A Brand New Way was different though. It was exactly what we were about. A team of people focused on trying new approaches and push boundaries on how to share our client’s stories. It also changed the dynamic of the conversation. The new name gives people that “ah ha” moment because it just fit with our approach and our underlying objective.

To tell our clients stories in a brand new way. The great thing is that the company hasn’t changed it’s goals, objectives, and approach to our client’s projects. We just wanted to make sure that the name told that same story – to simply match more closely with our M.O.

So while on some personal level some of us who have been around since the start misses the old name, it’s served it’s purpose and we’re all existed to see what brand new things we’ll be doing and creating under our new name.
