HNTB BWI Interactive

An interactive experience worthy of billions.

The BWI Terminal Modernization Project was going to be the start of an extremely in-depth renovation project for key sections within the terminal. HNTB approached A Brand New Way to create an engaging presentation that presented advancements of the project in a way that was easy to understand.

Challenge

HNTB had put together an extensive plan for the Terminal Modernization Project proposed for BWI, but needed a way to present all aspects of the engagement in a intuitive way. To help convey the professionalism and quality of HNTB's solution, A Brand New Way created an experience that allowed BWI project planners to walk through the entire process as they saw fit.

Process

During the initial discovery we learned what the story was, but we also had to dig further into how the story would be told. Would this be a suited up, one-to-many presentation where the audience would be sitting 20 feet back? Was this going to include a heavy Q&A session?

Turns out the presentation was going to first be given as a casual walk-though between a few people over a steak dinner at an upscale Baltimore restaurant. They would then be left with a CD so they could dig further at their own leisure.

Features

Knowing the setting beforehand allowed us to make key decisions on how to build out the experience. Nice restaurant over dinner? Let's make this easy to run through, but still be immersive enough for that second or third time back when there is more time to take it in.

The presentation included 3D renderings of the BWI Terminal at different phases of the project that provided a high-level view of the details provided through the interactive CAD renderings.
